Striped knit beanie hand knitted from soft extra-fine merino wool in a custom two-color combination. This chunky unisex beanie has a clean cuffless edge, optional detachable wool pompom and a warm minimalist striped look. Choose your main color and stripe color from our merino wool palette to create a soft winter hat for everyday wear.

This cuffless striped beanie is designed with a slightly high top and a simple clean edge. It can be worn as shown, or you can gently roll a small cuff if you prefer a lower fit. The beanie pairs beautifully with a matching striped snood or any chunky knit scarf in the same colors.

  • Colors - knitted in two colors: main color for the body and secondary color for the stripes
  • Pompom finish - available without pompom or with a detachable wool pompom in different sizes: large (approx. 13-15cm / 5-6 inches in diameter), medium (approx. 10 cm / 4 inches) or small one (approx. 7 cm / 3 inches). 
  • Fit - unisex, relaxed and comfortable

Yarn Details

Our chunky yarn is 100% handmade. It is hand-spun from 100% extra fine merino wool 18,5 microns from Italy. It is the best and premium merino quality in a market known for its extra softness and silkiness. It is a single ply, popular roving type yarn with a slight twist. Merino yarn goes through all necessary stages from fiber preparation to a spinning on a spinning wheel and washing to make lightly felted. This helps to fix the form of the yarn and get smooth textured surface with a unique look and soft feel. It allows knitwear to be more practical, prevents pilling and shedding.

Merino Wool Origin and Certifications
  • Extra fine merino wool tops used to the production of our wool come from both Australia and South America and are carefully selected in Italian factory to ensure constant quality over time.
  • Additionally, being of animal origin, the extra fine Merino wool top is biodegradable and therefore environmentally friendly.
  • All lots are MULESING FREE. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in a dyeinghouse in Italy which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.

This beanie is available in two sizes:

  • Standard size — fits most head circumferences 55–58 cm
  • Larger size — fits head circumference 58–60 cm, suitable for a larger head, men’s size or fuller hair

Depth — approx. 25 cm / 9.8 in
Width flat — approx. 24–26 cm / 9.5–10 in, depending on size
Weight — approx. 200 grams

For better sizing, you may include your head circumference and preferred beanie depth in the notes to the order.

Care
  • Gentle hand washing in cool water is possible if needed. Do not rub, twist or agitate the beanie. Lay flat to dry.
  • A fabric shaver is strongly recommended to refresh the surface if light pilling appears with wear. This is normal for soft natural merino wool.
  • Machine washing is not recommended, as it may change the yarn texture and reduce the softness and chunky look of the beanie.
