The easiest blanket ever! Introducing our beginner-level knitting kit for a chunky knit blanket! Featuring a simple garter stitch pattern and big knitting needles, it's incredibly easy and quick to knit. Versatile in its use, it's an excellent choice for gifting and adds a touch of coziness to any bedroom or living space.

  • Skill level - Beginner (Long-tail cast on, knit stitches, cast off, weaving the ends are necessary to know)

  • Color options - The blanket features a two colors stripes design. But it may be knitted in a single color as well.

  • Finishing kit - tapestry and felting needles to connect the yarn and hide the ends

The yarn is available for shipping in two convenient options: 200-gram hanks, perfect for knitting in two colors, or large balls with unbreakable yarn, ideal for knitting in one color.

This knitting kit is made with our Merino Mini yarn, super bulky yarn handspun from high quality Italian 100% merino wool. Luxuriously soft, silky, and non-itchy, it's perfect for chunky next-to-skin knits like snoods, scarves, sweaters, cardigans, hats, chunky blankets, and more. This yarn is easy, quick, and pleasant to knit with, available in 70 rich colors.

Yarn Details

Our chunky yarn is 100% handmade. It is hand-spun from 100% extra fine merino wool 18,5 microns from Italy. It is the best and premium merino quality in a market known for its extra softness and silkiness. It is a single ply, popular roving type yarn with a slight twist. Merino yarn goes through all necessary stages from fiber preparation to a spinning on a spinning wheel and washing to make lightly felted. This helps to fix the form of the yarn and get smooth textured surface with a unique look and soft feel. It allows knitwear to be more practical, prevents pilling and shedding. It is easier to knit with lightly felted yarn than with unfelted wool.

Merino Wool Origin and Certifications
  • Extra fine merino wool tops used to the production of our yarn come from both Australia and South America and are carefully selected in Italian factory to ensure constant quality over time.
  • Additionally, being of animal origin, the extra fine Merino wool top is biodegradable and therefore environmentally friendly.
  • All lots are MULESING FREE. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in a dyeinghouse in Italy which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.

Care
  • Specialized dry cleaning once a season is recommended.
  • Gentle hand wash (with a cool water, without any agitation, lay flat to dry) is also available for small size. But note that the garment will be very heavy to wash it by hands.
  • Washing machine is also possible (using cold water only, delicate/wool cycle, without agitation, air dry only). But note that washing in a machine will make yarn thinner, harder to touch, some softness will be lost. ​
