Description

Men’s cable knit sweater hand knitted from soft Italian extra-fine merino wool. This chunky wool sweater has a large cable pattern on the front, classic relaxed men’s fit, regular sleeves and a high ribbed neck, creating a warm structured handmade look.

The main photos show the original High Ribbed Neck version. You can also choose a Ribbed Crew Neck, Folded Ribbed Turtleneck or Wide Ribbed Cowl Neck if you prefer a different neckline.

The fit, sleeve shape, chunky texture and front cable pattern remain the same for all versions — only the neckline changes.

This sweater is designed with a classic relaxed men’s fit. It is not as oversized as some of our other chunky sweater styles. For a more oversized look, choose one size up. If you are between sizes or prefer extra room, we recommend selecting the larger size.

Neckline options:

  • High Ribbed Neck (as shown) - the original high 1x1 ribbed neckline shown in the main photos, without a fold.
  • Ribbed Crew Neck - a classic round neckline finished with chunky ribbing.
  • Folded Ribbed Turtleneck - a warm high collar with a folded ribbed neck.
  • Wide Ribbed Cowl Neck - a high, wide and relaxed ribbed neckline with a more sculptural statement look.

This sweater is usually made in one solid merino color from our palette. A melange color version is also available by request, using selected melange yarn mixes from our yarn collection. Please contact us before ordering if you would like this sweater in a melange color.

Yarn Details

Our chunky yarn is 100% handmade. It is hand-spun from 100% extra fine merino wool 18,5 microns from Italy. It is the best and premium merino quality in a market known for its extra softness and silkiness. It is a single ply, popular roving type yarn with a slight twist. Merino yarn goes through all necessary stages from fiber preparation to a spinning on a spinning wheel and washing to make lightly felted. This helps to fix the form of the yarn and get smooth textured surface with a unique look and soft feel. It allows knitwear to be more practical, helps to reduce pilling and shedding.

Merino Wool Origin and Certifications
  • Extra fine merino wool tops used to the production of our wool come from both Australia and South America and are carefully selected in Italian factory to ensure constant quality over time.
  • Additionally, being of animal origin, the extra fine Merino wool top is biodegradable and therefore environmentally friendly.
  • All lots are MULESING FREE. The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in a dyeinghouse in Italy which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.

This sweater has a classic relaxed men’s fit, not a very oversized fit. For a more oversized look, choose one size up. If you are between sizes or prefer extra room, we recommend selecting the larger size.

Care
  • Professional dry cleaning once a season is recommended.
  • For everyday care, gently air the sweater after wearing and store it folded, not hanging, to help keep its shape.
  • A fabric shaver is recommended to gently refresh the surface when light pilling appears. This is normal for soft natural merino wool, especially in areas of friction such as the sleeves, sides and underarms. Regular gentle shaving helps keep the sweater looking neat, clean and well maintained.
  • Gentle hand washing in cool water is possible if needed. Use a mild wool detergent. Do not rub, twist or agitate the sweater. Gently press out excess water in a towel and lay flat to dry. Please note that chunky wool becomes heavy when wet.
  • Machine washing is possible only on a very gentle wool cycle in cool water, with low or no spin. It may change the original look and feel of the yarn: the stitches may become more compact, and the sweater may lose some of its soft chunky volume. For best results, professional dry cleaning or gentle hand washing is recommended.
  • Do not bleach, tumble dry or use fabric softener.
