Introducing our chunky fisherman beanie knitting kit! The kit includes everything you need to knit your own cozy unisex accessory. Basic stylish minimalistic knit hat will be crafted from 100% soft merino wool yarn, it's available in 20 stunning colors to suit any taste.

This versatile beanie can be worn in two ways: as a cuffless classic wool beanie with a high top, or with the cuff turned up as fisherman beanie or if your beanie hat is too big or if you feel like changing up your look.

  • Level - Beginner friendly/ Easy (cast on, knit stitches, easy decreases, knitting on a round are necessary to know)
  • Time to finish: approx. 2 hours
  • The beanie is knitted in a round on a circular knitting needles, without seams.
Kit contents:
  • Yarn - 1 skein (200 grams) of Hello Merino yarn
  • Needles (optional) - 1 pair of 10 mm (US 17) circular knitting needles
  • Finishing kit - sewing and felting needles to connect yarn and hide the ends
  • 1 beanie pattern in English

Yarn Details

This knitting kit is made with our Hello Merino yarn, made from 100% Australian merino wool. This super bulky weight yarn is the best yarn for easy, quick and cozy knitting of your accessories (beanies, scarves, mittens), sweaters, cardigans or chunky warm blankets. The yarn is very soft, warm, not itchy. Excellent yarn for beginners!

Yarn Characteristics
  • Fiber: 100% Australian merino wool (21 microns)
  • Meterage: 80-90 meters (87-98 yards) per 200 gram ball
  • Yarn weight: Super Chunky / Super Bulky / Yarn Weight 6
  • Thickness of a yarn: approx. 5-7 mm
  • Yarn details: Roving type yarn with a slight twist
  • Average tension: 7 stitches + 9 rows per 10 cm / 4 (using 15 mm needles)
  • Recommended needles: 10-12 mm (for beanies), 12-15 mm (for scarves, snoods, sweaters, cardigans)
Sizes
Beanie size

One size suits most women (with head circumference 55-58 cm). It is easy to adjust the pattern for a bigger size for larger heads, curly hair or for men (with head circumference 60-62 cm). All instructions are included to the pattern.

  • Depth: Approximately 25 cm / 9,8.
  • Width (in a flat not stretched position): Approximately 24 cm / 9,4
Care
  • Gentle hand wash (with a cool water, without any agitation, lay flat to dry) is available.
  • Washing machine is also possible (using cold water only, delicate/wool cycle, without agitation, air dry only). But note that washing in a machine will make yarn a little thinner, harder to touch, some softness will be lost. ​
