Description

Easy knitting kit to knit a classic super chunky ribbed beanie. Includes everything to knit this beanie. The beanie will be hand knitted from a 100% lightweight, super soft merino wool yarn. It features a turned up cuff and chunky ribbed structure. Available in 25 colors!

  • Level - Beginner friendly / Easy (cast on, knit and purl stitches, knitting on a round and easy decreases are necessary to know)
  • Time to finish - approx. 2 hours
  • The beanie is knitted in a round on a circular knitting needles, without seams.
Kit contents:
  • Yarn - 1 skein (200 grams) of Hello Merino yarn
  • Needles (optional) - 1 pair of 10 mm (US 17) circular knitting needles
  • Finishing kit - sewing and felting needles to connect yarn and hide the ends
  • 1 beanie pattern in English

Yarn Details

This knitting kit is made with our Hello Merino yarn, made from 100% Australian merino wool. This super bulky weight yarn is the best yarn for easy, quick and cozy knitting of your accessories (beanies, scarves, mittens), sweaters, cardigans or chunky warm blankets. The yarn is very soft, warm, not itchy. Excellent yarn for beginners!

  • Fiber: 100% Australian merino wool (21 microns)
  • Meterage: 80-90 meters (87-98 yards) per 200 gram ball
  • Yarn weight: Super Chunky / Super Bulky / Yarn Weight 6
  • Thickness of a yarn: approx. 5-7 mm
  • Yarn details: Roving type yarn with a slight twist
  • Average tension: 7 stitches + 9 rows per 10 cm / 4 (using 15 mm needles)
  • Recommended needles: 10-12 mm (for beanies), 12-15 mm (for scarves, snoods, sweaters, cardigans)

Beanie size
  • One size suits most women (with head circumference 55-58 cm). It is easy to adjust the pattern for a bigger size for larger heads, curly hair or for men. All instructions are included to the pattern.
Beanie measurements
  • Width (in a flat upstretched position): 23 cm / 9 inches stretching to 60 cm / 23,6 inches head circumference.
  • Total depth: 35 cm / 14 inches.
  • Depth (with a brim up folded) - 24 cm / 9.5". The depth with the brim folded up can be adjusted by the width of the brim. You can wear your beanie with a higher top or fitted on the head.
Care
  • Gentle hand wash (with a cool water, without any agitation, lay flat to dry) is available.
  • Washing machine is also possible (using cold water only, delicate/wool cycle, without agitation, air dry only). But note that washing in a machine will make yarn a little thinner, harder to touch, some softness will be lost. ​
