Instructions:

Cast on: Begin by casting on an even number of stitches using any method you prefer.

Set-up row: Knit 1, yarn over (yo). Repeat from * to * across the row. This sets up the foundation for the brioche stitch.

Row 1 (Right side): Slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in front (wyif), knit 1 together with its paired yarn over (k1, yo). Repeat from * to * across the row.

Row 2 (Wrong side): Slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in back (wyib), purl 1. Repeat from * to * across the row.

Repeat rows 1 and 2: Continue repeating rows 1 and 2 until your project reaches the desired length, making sure to maintain the brioche stitch pattern.

Bind off: When you've reached the desired length, bind off all stitches. You can use any bind-off method you prefer.

Finishing: Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of several inches. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle and weave it in along the edge of your work to secure it. Trim any excess yarn.
