Super bulky yarn MERINO MINI. Super chunky slightly felted yarn hand spun from a premium quality merino wool from Italy. Super soft, silky, pleasant to touch, not itchy at all.

Perfect for chunky knitting, such as next-to-skin chunky knitted clothes and super chunky blankets. Ideal for knitting snoods, scarves, sweaters, cardigans, hats, blankets and many more things. The yarn is very easy, quick and pleasant to knit with.

Details

Fiber

100% extra fine merino wool 18,5 microns (Italy). Extra fine merino wool tops come from both Australia and South America and are carefully selected to ensure constant high quality. All lots are MULESING FREE.

The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in a dyeinghouse in Italy which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.

Note: color Flamenco has a different fiber content: 70% extra fine merino wool and 30% silk tussah

Yarn details

Handspun single ply roving type yarn with a slight twist. The yarn is lightly felted to fix its form. It allows it to be more practical, avoid pilling and breaking. But still it remains very soft and very pleasant. It is easier to knit with it.

Knitting Recommendations

Average tension: 5 stitches + 9 rows per 10 cm / 4 inches

Needles recommendations: 12 mm (for beanies), 15 mm (for cowls, scarves, cardigans, sweaters, blankets), 20 mm - 25 mm (for blankets and loose knitting).

How much super bulky merino wool yarn MERINO MINI do you need for a chunky knitwear?

Hats & Beanies – 1 skein usually (200 grams), 2 skeins for extra-large hat (400 grams)
Cowls - 1 skein for a small snood/ circle cowl (200 grams), 2 skeins for infinity cowl (400 grams)
Scarves – 2 skeins (400 grams) make a scarf approx. 18*150cm, 3-4 skeins for a large long scarf, 5 skeins for a super large long scarf
Sweaters – 5 – 10 skeins (1-2 kg)
Cardigan – 7– 10 skeins, (1,4 - 2 kg)

Blankets - 1 kg (5 skeins) makes approx. 80x115 cm (30*45 inches). Knit blanket loosely (for blankets we recommend 20 mm circular needless) to get the best result.

Product Care

Tender hand wash is possible for small items (beanie, scarf, cowl). Cool water, no agitation, lay flat to dry.

Specialized dry cleaning once a season is recommended for big pieces (sweater, blanket).

Washing machine is also possible (using cold water only, delicate/wool cycle, without agitation, air dry only). But note that washing in a machine will make yarn thinner, harder to touch, some softness will be lost.
