COLOR SAMPLES. The yarn is available in the richest color palette in approx. 70 colors! One color sample has enough fiber to sample one color, feel the fiber and length of the yarn. The color sample will weigh up to 25g.

Jumbo yarn MERINO MAXI by Knit Design Studio is a jumbo weight yarn handspun from an extra soft merino wool 18,5 microns from Italy. This slightly felted jumbo chunky yarn knits up quickly and is excellent for knitting chunky pieces.

Fibre content

100% extra fine merino wool 18,5 microns (Italy). Extra fine merino wool tops come from both Australia and South America and are carefully selected to ensure constant high quality. All lots are MULESING FREE.

The dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and is done in a dyeinghouse in Italy which is GOTS 5.0 and GRS certified.

Hand spun single ply with a fashionable loose twist construction, jumbo roving yarn. Lightly felted jumbo yarn becomes more practical, easier to knit with. Avoids shedding, pilling or breaking.

Knitting Recommendations

Average tension: 3 stitches + 5 rows / 4 inches (ca. 10 cm). One stitch = approximately 3 cm.

Recommended knitting needles:
20 mm (US 35) — hats, beanies, for tighter fabric as well.

25 mm (US 50) — scarves, cardigans, sweaters, throws.

30-35 mm (US 60 - US 70) — loose knitting scarves, throws.

40 mm (US 70) — for very loose fabric.

Blankets - 1-6 kg (One kilogram of a jumbo yarn makes approximately 75×75 cm (ca. 30×30 inches) square in 2-3 hours in 25 mm needles)

Product Care

Tender hand wash is possible for small items (beanie, scarf, cowl). Cool water, no agitation, lay flat to dry.

Specialized dry cleaning is recommended for big pieces (sweater, blanket).

Washing machine is also possible (using cold water only, delicate/wool cycle, without agitation, air dry only). But note that washing in a machine will make yarn thinner, harder to touch, some softness will be lost.
